Q What is Montigo?

Montigo is a school management platform designed for Montessori and early-years schools. It combines what schools usually buy as separate apps — attendance, observations, parent messaging, calendar, and transport — into one integrated system. There are two mobile apps: Montigo Crew for school staff (directors, guides, drivers) and Montigo Parent for parents.

Q How do I get started with Montigo?

Montigo is currently rolling out school by school. If your school already uses Montigo, your school director will send you an invite. If you're a school director and want to bring Montigo to your school, join the early access list — we'll get back to you within 24 hours.

Q Is Montigo free?

Montigo is free for our founding schools through the early access period. We're working on simple, transparent pricing for the official launch — schools that join early get preferential rates and grandfathered features.

Q What's the difference between the Crew and Parent apps?

Montigo Crew is the staff app — used by school directors, teachers (guides), admins, drivers, and attendants to run the school day-to-day. Montigo Parent is the parent app — used by parents to see their child's attendance, observations, messages, and bus location. They're separate apps because they have very different jobs to do.

Q How do I check students in?

Open the Crew app, go to Attendance, and tap each student's card to mark them present, absent, or late. You can also pick a different day if you need to amend a previous record. Parents are notified automatically when their child is checked in.

Q How do I log a Montessori observation?

Tap the student, then "+ New Observation". Pick the area (Math, Language, Practical Life, etc.), describe what you saw, and add tags. Quick capture is designed for two-handed teaching — you can record voice notes that are transcribed later, too.

Q How do I message a parent?

Open Comms, tap the student or parent name, and start a 1:1 chat. Or use Broadcasts to send the same message to your whole class with a single tap. Parents get push notifications and can respond from their app.

Q I'm a substitute driver. How do I run an unfamiliar route?

That's exactly what Montigo Transport is built for. Once your school assigns you to a route, the app shows you all stops, student photos, pickup times, and turn-by-turn navigation. The route lives in the app, not in anyone's head — you can drive confidently from day one.

Q Does the app track my location all the time?

No. Location tracking only happens for drivers during active trips. The moment you end a trip, tracking stops. Teachers, admins, and other staff are never tracked. Read our Privacy Policy for details.

For parents
Q How do I track my child's bus?

Once your school enables transport, your home screen shows the live bus location and ETA when a trip is active. You'll get push notifications like "Bus 2 minutes away" and "Aarav safely on board" — no need to keep checking the app.

Q Why am I not receiving notifications?

Make sure notifications are enabled for Montigo Parent in your phone's settings. iPhone: Settings → Montigo Parent → Notifications → Allow Notifications. Android: Settings → Apps → Montigo Parent → Notifications → Enable. If issues continue, log out and log back in to refresh your push token.

Q How do I mark my child absent?

Open your child's profile and tap "Mark Absent" with the date and reason. The school is notified immediately and attendance is updated. If your child uses transport, the driver also stops waiting at your stop.

Q Can I add multiple children?

Yes. If you have more than one child at the school, both will appear on your home screen and you can switch between them with a tap. You'll get separate notifications and updates for each child.

Q Can I share access with my partner or another caregiver?

Yes. The school can invite multiple parent or guardian contacts per child. Each adult signs in with their own account and gets their own notifications.

Managing your data
Q How do I delete my account?

Email us at hello@montigo.school with the subject "Account Deletion Request - Montigo". Include your full name, registered email, and school name. We'll process your request within 7 business days. See our Delete Account page for the full process.

Q How is my data protected?

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in Mumbai, India with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access is gated by row-level security tied to your role and your school. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers. Read our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

Q Can I request a copy of my data?

Yes. Email us at hello@montigo.school and we'll prepare a copy of your account data and any data linked to your child within 14 days.

Q I used to use Wheels — what happens to my data?

Montigo is the next chapter of Wheels. Your transport history, account, and parent setup carry over automatically. The Wheels-branded apps will be retired in mid-2026 and replaced with the Montigo apps — we'll send clear migration instructions before that switch.
